Engagement Shoot in London with Charlotte & Luke

Charlotte and Luke are getting married in June and we met in London, a couple of weeks before Christmas, for their engagement photo shoot. Considering the weather we’ve been having recently, we were lucky on the day and were able to enjoy a nice walk along the south bank in the late afternoon sun. After crossing Millenium Bridge, we finished near St Pauls, as the light faded. It was a fun afternoon and I’m looking forward to photographing Charlotte and Luke again on their big day in June. Here are a few of my favourites shots.

Liz & Jason – Wedding Photography at Highfield Park

Liz and Jason were married at Highfield Park on a chilly but mostly dry day in November. They prefer natural photographs, so this wedding was shot mostly in a documentary style, with just a few formal portraits. The day started at home with Liz getting ready along with her parents, bridesmaids and some friends. Everyone was very relaxed and looking forward to the day. Then it was off to Highfield park, where Jason was making his final preparations at the venue. A lovely ceremony was followed by drinks in the bar, while the fantastic entertainment that Liz and Jason had arranged for their guests was being prepared for the evening celebrations. A marquee at the back of the hotel was done out like a fair ground, with arcade games, coconut shy, hooplar, darts and shooting galleries. There was also candy floss, a photo booth and cocktail bar, with juggling waiters and all the tables were well stocked with bottled beer. Evening guests were greeted by a fire performer and a lady on stilts at the front of the hotel and entertainment was provided later by the excellent live band The Tzars.

It really was a wonderful day, a little bit different and great fun to be there to capture the photos. Here is a small selection of shots from the day.

Sarah & Mike – Wedding Photography in Kent

The last Saturday in October saw Sally and I back in Kent for another family wedding, this time it was the turn of our niece Sarah, who married Mike at The Manor Gate House in Dartford. After the ceremony and a few photos in the pretty, but very cold gardens, it was off to Gravesend for the reception and evening party. It was a lovely day, spent with family and everyone had a great time. Here are a few shots from the day.

Rosalie & Mark – Greek Orthodox Wedding in Zakynthos

I’ve known Rosalie and Mark as friends for a few years, so as soon as I heard that they were getting married, I hoped they would ask me to be their wedding photographer. When they did and told me that it was going to be on the Greek island of Zakynthos, I was obviously delighted!

Sally and I spent four days on the island, so had plenty of time to relax and enjoy time with friends as well working on the big day. With the weather being so hot, the wedding itself started as the sun was going down at the beautiful Church of the Panagia at Katastari, which was about half an hour by coach from the Mabely Grand Hotel where most of the guests were staying. The reception was back at the hotel and the celebrations continued through the night, with dancing until dawn.

This really was a wonderful wedding, everyone had a fantastic time and, even though I was on my feet with a camera from Saturday afternoon until almost breakfast time on Sunday, it didn’t feel like working at all. 🙂
