London Engagement Photos

I met up with Suzanne and John at St Paul’s Cathedral on a sunny July evening for their engagement photo shoot. We spent a very pleasant couple of hours wandering down to the Millennium Bridge and over the Thames to the south bank, ending up at Waterloo Bridge. Here are a few of those London engagement photos.

Westminster Wedding Photography | Holly & John

Westminster Wedding Photography

Holly and John’s Westminster wedding was in the Jubilee Room at the Houses of Parliament on Easter weekend. The reception was at the nearby Charing Cross Hotel, which is where Sally and I met Holly and her attendants for bridal preparations in the morning. When it was time to head to Parliament for the ceremony, a short taxi ride took us to the end of a long queue of tourists waiting to get through security. Luckily, we were allowed through the fast track line and soon met up with John for a few photos inside Westminster Hall.

After the ceremony, we all went out to the public area of Westminster Hall for some formal photos and it felt a bit like a celebrity wedding with hundreds of tourists looking on. One chap actually tried to push his wife into one of the group shots and take a photo with his iphone, which was quite amusing. Once we had captured the photos we wanted around Parliament, everybody headed back to the more peaceful environment of the Charing Cross Hotel for the reception and evening celebrations. Here are a few highlights from the day.

Engagement Photo Shoot in London | Holly & John

Engagement Photo Shoot in London

I’m looking forward to photographing Holly and John’s wedding at another quite unique venue at Easter this year. The photo above shows them standing in front of their wedding venue, Parliament. We met in London back in the autumn for their engagement photo shoot and enjoyed a pleasant walk in the late afternoon sun from St Pauls to Westminster Bridge, via the south bank. Here are a few more of my favourite shots from the engagement shoot.

Wedding Photography at Portsmouth Dockyard and HMS Excellent

wedding photography in the rose garden at HMS Excellent

Sally and I had the great pleasure to return to Portsmouth in August to photograph another wedding at HMS Excellent on Whale Island. Emily and Luke where married at St Anne’s church in the Historic Dockyard, before travelling by ferry across Portsmouth Harbour and then by vintage bus to the Ward Room at HMS Excellent for their reception. After signing in and getting our security passes at Trafalgar Gate, our day started at the home of Emily’s parents inside the Historic Dockyard and just around the corner from the church. After some time photographing the bridal preparations and being very well looked after by Emily’s family, we walked around to St Anne’s where the groom and guests began arriving in the vintage bus for the wedding service. We were lucky enough to have access to the beautiful gardens of Admiralty House for portraits of Luke and his best man before the service and again afterwards for the formal photographs.

I traveled on the ferry with the bridal party to capture shots of them crossing Portsmouth Harbour, while Sally drove around to HMS Excellent to photograph the guests arriving for the reception. After being greeted by their guests and enjoying a drink, the happy couple joined us in the Rose Garden for a few portraits and then returned for the wedding breakfast and evening entertainment. This was another thoroughly enjoyable days work for us, at a stunning venue and in the company of some very nice people. Here are a few of my favourite shots from the day.

Wedding Photography at Kew Gardens | Liu Liu & Leon

wedding photography at Cambridge Cottage in Kew Gardens

Last weekend I had the pleasure of being Liu Liu and Leon’s wedding photographer at Kew Gardens in London. This was a new venue for me and what a beautiful setting it is for wedding photography. The day started at the couples flat in North London for Liu Liu’s preparations followed by some portraits on the roof terrace with superb views across London. Then it was off to Kew Gardens for some photos of Leon and the guests waiting for the arrival of the stunning bride and the wedding ceremony.

Weddings at Kew Gardens can be held in Cambridge Cottage which is closed to the public for the event. Cambridge Cottage has its own beautiful gardens which are reserved for the wedding, but we also had access to the rest of the famous and historic venue for photographs after the wedding. Liu Liu and Leon had arranged for their guests to join them on a private tour of the gardens on the Kew Explorer and we stopped off at the amazing Pagoda during the tour for a few more photos. Here are a few of my favourites from this lovely relaxed and enjoyable wedding.
