Sarah & Paul – Wedding Photography in Kent

Sarah and Paul’s wedding in Gravesend meant an early start to avoid any possible travel problems on the M25, but the journey was trouble free and the weather was fine. After an early trip to the hairdresser, Sarah finished her preparations at her parents home and that is where photography of the day started. After some portraits in the garden, it was just a short drive to Christ Church to meet Paul and his groomsmen. Sarah is my wife Sally’s cousin and it was nice to see a lot of familiar faces at the wedding. After the service, the happy couple were driven to their reception at The Inn on the Lake in a white Barnsdale Saloon, while the bridesmaids followed in a Daimler 7 seater limosine. As with all of my recent weddings, there was some rain, but it did stay away for most of the day and didn’t hamper the photography.

Here are a few shots from the day.

Giulia & Ernest – Wedding Photography at Hungerford and Elcot Park

Giulia and Ernest’s wedding was quite an international occasion, with many of the guests visiting from Italy and California, and we could really have done with some of the sunshine they are used to at home. The British summer is rarely that co-operative though and the rain which started during the late morning wedding service at St Lawrence’s church in Hungerford, continued for the rest of the day.

Photography of the day started with Giulia and her brides maids preparations at Elcot Park Hotel, shortly after breakfast. The wedding dress looked stunning when it was just hanging up in the room and when Giulia was wearing it she looked quite the fairytale bride. After a few photographs outside the hotel, it was time for me to go and meet Ernest at the church in Hungerford. The groom looked very dashing in his suit and we managed to get a few shots of him, ‘best man’ Anna and the ushers outside the church as it started to lightly rain. As Giulia and her dad arrived at the church in a very impressive looking vintage Ford, the rain was starting to get harder and that was just about the last chance for any photography outside for the rest of the day.

After the service, there was time for some photographs inside the church, before it was back off to the Elcot Park Hotel for the celebrations. Regardless of the weather, Giulia and Ernest had a lovely happy wedding day and I was very happy to be there as their photographer. Here are a few preview shots from the day. The beautiful wedding cake was made by Giulia’s mum Costanza.

Laura & James – Wedding Photography at Old Basing & Hook House Hotel

Laura and James were married at St Mary’s Church in Old Basing on yet another cloudy day in August. Photography of their big day started with James and best man Andy getting ready at home. James had asked me to get some shots of them with his own car and had spent a couple of hours cleaning and polishing it, only to find Andy turn up in a shiny black Mercedes convertible to drive him to the church in. So the groom travelled to the church in style, with a short stop on the way for a few photos with the car. When Laura arrived at the church and walked up the path with her dad and bridesmaids, she looked stunning and very happy.

The lovely wedding service at St Mary’s included some really beautiful singing by the Souls of Prophecy gospel choir. After being showered with confetti and  having a few photographs in the church yard, the happy couple were driven to their reception at Hook House Hotel in a white Rolls Royce. Although the sun was not going make an appearance, it did stay dry for them to enjoy drinks outside with their guests and we completed the photography in the very attractive grounds of the hotel, before leaving them to enjoy their meal in the marquee.

Here are a few shots from the day.

Abigail & Gary – Wedding Photography at the Old Mill in Aldermaston

Abs and Gary were married at the Old Mill, a stunning venue on the banks of the River Kennet, just outside Aldermaston in West Berkshire. Although the weather was very grey and rain threatened all afternoon, it did stay dry for them until the evening. It was a lovely day and a pleasure for me to be their wedding photographer. As Gary said in his speech, he and Abs are soul mates and their love was obvious for all to see – they certainly didn’t need any prompting to kiss for their photographs. 🙂

The Old Mill is a great setting for wedding photography and I could easily spend hours taking pictures around the beautiful grounds and picturesque buildings. However, the looming dark clouds meant the photography was completed in much quicker time.

Here are a few shots from the day.

Kelly & David – Wedding Photography in Winchester

Kelly and David were married at St Peter’s church in the centre of Winchester. Photography of their big day started with Kelly’s preparations at her parent’s house in Shawford, before she was taken to church with her dad in a horse drawn carriage. With the August we’ve had this year, rain was inevitable, and the first shower came during the service but it stopped before the happy couple walked back down the aisle and we were able to get some photos outside the church. Kelly and David travelled to their reception at Itchen Abbas in the horse drawn carriage, accompanied by another shower and with a short stop next to the River Itchen at Martyr Worthy for some more photographs.

I hope you’re having a great honeymoon Mr & Mrs B and here is a short preview of your photos. Lots more to see when you get home.
