Bartons Mill Wedding Photography with Josie and Josh
Here are a few shots from Josie and Josh’s Bartons Mill wedding photography in July. Bartons Mill is a converted 17th century water mill which was originally known as Old Basing Mill. The venue is just outside Basingstoke in a beautiful countryside setting next to the River Loddon.
With the typical British summer weather forecast of rain, the wedding was held inside the old mill in the lovely ceremony room overlooking the gardens. The rain actually stayed away all day though and the rest of the celebrations took place outside on the covered patio area and the grounds surrounding the venue.
The evening party included some ceilidh dancing which was a lot of fun for the guests and the photographer. Here are a few photos from Josie and Josh’s big day at Bartons Mill.
Midweek Wedding Photography at Basingstoke Register Office
Norma and Robert booked me for their wedding photography at Basingstoke Register Office in June. They chose to have an intimate midweek wedding with four of their close friends as guests. Basingstoke Register Office (commonly referred to as the ‘Registry Office’) is in a beautiful Georgian house that was previously owned Thomas Burberry, the founder of the famous clothing company. There are two ceremony rooms at the Register Office in Basingstoke, either side of the elegant waiting room shown in the group photo above. Smaller weddings like this one are held in the Carnarvon Room, at the rear of the building.
Norma and Robert’s wedding was on a gorgeous sunny Thursday in June, so we were able to capture a confetti shot and took some portraits outside the attractive front of the register office building. Then the whole wedding party walked the short distance to the Memorial Park next door for some more photos near the bandstand.
It was a real pleasure to the photographer for this lovely small mid-week wedding and I’ve included a small selection of the photos below. If you’re looking for a wedding photographer at Basingstoke Register office, you can book me for as little as two hours from Monday through Thursday.
Wedding Photography at St Mary’s in Basingstoke with Sam & Alex
I spent a sunny day in June with Sam and Alex for their wedding photography at St Mary’s church in Basingstoke. St Mary’s has a large auditorium which easily accommodated the 300 guests who attended the service. The venue also provided the perfect place for the largest group photo I’ve taken this year.
Smaller family group photos were taken in the church yard at St Mary’s. We then made the short drive to the War Memorial Park for some photos of the happy couple. Then it was back to St Mary’s for the wedding breakfast and speeches in the old church building.
Here are a few photos from a lovely day of wedding photography with lots of happy smiling faces.
Sam and Alex got married at St Mary’s Church in Basingstoke back in June. Yes, I am a bit behind with my blog posts. A few weeks before their wedding, I met them to take their engagement photos near Micheldever Station. We had a walk around Blackwood Forest shortly before sunset and the golden hour light was lovely for engagement photos. We discussed plans for the wedding and got to know each other a bit more. Sam and Alex also felt more comfortable in front of the camera as the photoshoot went on. While maybe feeling a bit awkward to start with, they soon relaxed during the photo shoot and had a few laughs. We ended up with some lovely natural photos of them as an engaged couple and gave them confidence for their wedding photos. Here is a small selection from their set of engagement photos.
Wedding Photography at Dummer Down Farm – Carmen & Mike
I had such a fun time doing the photography for Carmen and Mike’s festival style wedding at Dummer Down Farm, near Basingstoke in Hampshire. They had put so much work into planning the day and Dummer Down Farm is the perfect venue. We really needed the weather to play nicely though and it did! The morning started grey and a bit chilly, but it soon improved. It turned into a lovely early summer day with clear blue sky and lots of sun in the afternoon.
The bride and her bridesmaids got ready in a sweet little cottage with its own garden, behind the main farmhouse. This was great as it meant that we could get some photos of them outside without being seen by the guests too soon. Then it was time for Carmen, her Dad and the bridesmaids to walk to the ceremony. I was able to get some great shots of their procession around the farmhouse and across the field.
The ceremony was beautiful with the couple reading their own personal vows. The guests enjoyed some drinks while we captured the group photos in front of the picturesque farmhouse. Then we drove over to Micheldever Wood where Carmen and Mike wanted some photos in the bluebells. We got back to the farm for the pizzas and burritos, followed by speeches in the marquee.
I was lucky enough to be allowed to use the gorgeous walled garden next to the farmhouse for some photos as the sun was going down. The brilliant pop punk covers band High School Reunion provided the evening entertainment. I stayed for quite a while after the first dance, enjoying the music.
Here are some highlights from a most enjoyable day of wedding photography at Dummer Down Farm.
