Wedding Photography at Overton & Wokefield Park

Last Friday saw the wedding of Laura and Paul at St Mary’s church in Overton, followed by their reception at Wokefield Park, near Reading. It was a lovely summers day and the bride and groom were greeted with bright sunshine when they emerged from the church after their lunchtime wedding service.

After being showered with confetti and having a few photographs outside the church, the happy couple headed off to Wokefield Park to celebrate. It was very nice to see toastmaster Chris Poole waiting to greet the wedding party at the hotel. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Chris before and, as well as keeping things running to schedule, he provides great help to wedding photographers when it comes to organising the formal photographs.

Like many grooms, Paul got his speech out of the way before relaxing with his new wife to enjoy the wedding breakfast. We then took advantage of the lovely light provided by the late afternoon sun to shoot some photographs of Laura and Paul in grounds of the manor house, before the evening guests arrived. Photography of the day concluded with the cutting of the cake and first dance. Here are a few shots from the day.

Emma & Jason – Wedding Photography in Cambridge

Cambridge is a bit out of my usual area, but this was a family wedding with the bride being our niece, so Sally and I travelled up to be both wedding photographers and guests. Photography of the day started at the hotel where Emma was getting ready and then it was off to the lovely St Mary the virgin church in the village of Longstowe, just outside Cambridge. After the service, the celebrations started at the cricket club next door and continued late into the evening when Chinese lanterns were lit and released to fly off over the fields.

Wedding Featured on AAINA Bridal Blog

I was surprised and very happy to be contacted recently by Asiya of the AAINA Bridal Blog, asking if she could feature Tanvi and Vishal’s wedding which I photographed in India earlier this year. AAINA Bridal Blog is based in Toronto, Canada and is all about bridal beauty and style, providing inspiration for south asian brides all over the world. Asiya came across my photos from this wedding while browsing on Flickr.

Click on the image below to see the full feature, which was posted yesterday.

Amanda & Steve – Wedding Photography at Highfield Park

The splendid Highfield Park Hotel was the setting for Amanda and Steve’s wedding last weekend. The rain that was falling when I arrived in the morning only stopped for a couple of short periods all day, but it didn’t dampen the spirits of the happy couple or their guests, who enjoyed a lovely day in spite of the weather. Following the wedding ceremony, we managed a few photographs in the grounds, before the rain forced us back inside for the rest of the day. Then, after a very nice meal and the speeches, the guests enjoyed some casino games while the main room was being prepared for the evening.

I hope you’re having a great honeymoon guys – here are a few highlights and the rest will be waiting for you when you get home.

Lisa & Dave – Pre-Wedding Photos at Norton Park

Norton Park is the venue for Lisa and Dave’s wedding next month and we met there one evening last week to discuss plans for the big day and take a few pre-wedding photographs. There are certainly plenty of great locations for wedding photography in the grounds of this stunning venue, both around the modern hotel buildings and the older manor house, with its gardens and lake. I’m really looking forward to going back for Lisa and Dave’s wedding in July and again for another wedding in August. Here are a few of their pre-wedding photographs.
