Engagement Shoot in Portsmouth | Clare & Paul

Clare and Paul are getting married at St Cuthbert’s Church in Porstmouth in September and holding their reception at HMS Excellent on Whale Island. There are not many weddings at this naval venue as it is not available to the general public, so I was delighted when Clare and Paul chose me and Sally as their wedding photographers. We met up recently to have a look around the venues and discuss plans for the day, and then headed out to Old Portsmouth for their engagement photo shoot. It was a very warm and sunny afternoon – just right for an afternoon at the seaside and we had a lot of fun. Clare and Paul are keen photographers themselves and were happy to help me try something a little bit different that I’ve been wanting to do for a while. The first couple of photos below are a combination of portrait photography and long exposure landscapes, which is another photographic passion of mine. More of that style of photography can be seen on my fine art and travel photography site Good Light Hunting. Anyway, here are those shots and a few more of my favourites from a very enjoyable afternoon!

Farnham Wedding Photography

Rachel and Peter’s big day came around earlier this month and what a great day it was! They were married at St Andrew’s church in Farnham town centre and had their reception at Farnham Rugby Club. There were a few showers around, but we were able to work around them and the whole day was very relaxed and enjoyable. The bride and groom were happy and natural in front of the camera and a real pleasure to work with. Here are some of my favourites from the day.

Pre-Wedding Photo Shoot in London | Rachel & Peter

Rachel and Peter’s wedding is coming up next weekend in Farnham so we met recently in London to help them get more comfortable having their photographs taken. They had nothing to worry about as they are naturals in front of the camera and I think they enjoyed it more than they thought they would. Starting in St Paul’s Churchyard, we had a nice walk over Millenium Bridge and along the south bank past Black Friars and the Oxo Tower. Here are a few of the shots we captured.

Basingstoke Wedding Photographer at Oakley Hall

Oakley Hall is a beautiful place for a Basingstoke wedding photographer to work and this was the venue for Hannah and Russell’s Easter Saturday wedding. The day started with bridal preparations in the charming little cottage in the grounds of the hotel. Walking up to the cottage in the morning, I couldn’t resist taking a few shots as it looked so lovely through the trees in the sun light. The light and spacious cottage made an ideal venue for the ladies and the father of the bride to get ready, and a nice setting for a few portraits before they headed up to the hotel for the wedding.

After the ceremony, upstairs in the Steventon Room, everybody took their drinks out into the gardens for some photos. We made full use of the grounds for Hannah and Russell’s couple photos, with the help of a chauffeur driven buggy provided by the hotel. Then it was time for the meal and speeches, before some more romantic shots with the bride and groom after the sun went down.

It was a really fun day, spent with some lovely people and the added bonus for me of a short drive home.

Basingstoke Wedding Photographer at Audleys Wood | Sarah & Craig

I’ve known Craig for years, having done portrait photography for him and his family several times in Basingstoke. I was really happy when he and Sarah asked me to be their wedding photographer at Audleys Wood in Basingstoke. It’s always nice to go back to Audleys Wood too as it’s a lovely venue for wedding photography.

Sarah and Craig chose the last Sunday in March for their wedding and what a lovely day it was – certainly one of the warmest of the year so far. Photography started in the morning where Sarah and her bridesmaids were getting ready in the Jane Austin Suite. A few last minute adjustments to the dress meant that Sarah was fashionably late walking up the aisle. Craig kept his cool though and his bride looked stunning as she entered the Conservatory for the wedding ceremony.

Afterwards, it was outside in the beautiful grounds of the hotel for drinks and photographs and then on to the marquee for the wedding breakfast. In the evening, the happy couple started the dancing to a wonderful performance of All of Me by bridesmaid Hannah. Here are a few highlights from a really enjoyable day.
