Nigerian Wedding in Basingstoke and Pamber Heath
I had a great day photographing a Nigerian Wedding in Basingstoke and Pamber Heath. Clementinah and Banjo exchanged vows at the register office in Basingstoke before celebrating with family and friends at the Memorial Hall in Pamber Heath..
A vibrant Nigerian wedding filled with colour, music, and unforgettable celebrations made for an incredible day of photography in Hampshire. From the excitement of the morning preparations to the energetic dancing at the evening reception, every part of the day reflected the couple’s personalities and the rich traditions shared with family and friends.
The day began at Audleys Wood Hotel, where both the bride and groom prepared separately with their bridal party. The atmosphere was full of anticipation as the bridesmaids helped the bride into her stunning white wedding dress. Meanwhile, the groom and his groomsmen got into their suits in a nearby room. They shared jokes and final preparations before having a few photos and then heading to the ceremony.
The wedding ceremony took place at Basingstoke Register Office, where family and friends gathered to witness the couple officially become husband and wife. Following the ceremony, we took the couple portraits in the beautiful surroundings of War Memorial Park. The park provides a perfect backdrop for romantic photographs. With plenty of greenery and peaceful pathways, it creates a relaxed atmosphere away from the excitement of the day.
Wedding Celebrations at Pamber Heath
The celebrations continued at Pamber Heath Memorial Hall, where the reception truly showcased the energy and traditions of a Nigerian wedding celebration. Guests brought bold colours, elegant outfits, and an incredible atmosphere to the room from the moment they arrived.
One of the highlights of the evening was the grand entrance. First, the bride and groom’s families were announced and danced their way into the reception. They were followed by the bridal party, each group welcomed with cheers and music. Finally, the newlyweds made their entrance to huge applause, dancing together into the room as everyone celebrated around them.
After the meal, the happy couple and their bridal party all changed into traditional Nigerian outfits for the evening celebrations. It was an unforgettable evening full of joy, culture, and genuine moments that were a privilege to capture. Here are just a few highlights.
