Wedding Photography at Dummer Down Farm – Carmen & Mike
I had such a fun time doing the photography for Carmen and Mike’s festival style wedding at Dummer Down Farm, near Basingstoke in Hampshire. They had put so much work into planning the day and Dummer Down Farm is the perfect venue. We really needed the weather to play nicely though and it did! The morning started grey and a bit chilly, but it soon improved. It turned into a lovely early summer day with clear blue sky and lots of sun in the afternoon.
The bride and her bridesmaids got ready in a sweet little cottage with its own garden, behind the main farmhouse. This was great as it meant that we could get some photos of them outside without being seen by the guests too soon. Then it was time for Carmen, her Dad and the bridesmaids to walk to the ceremony. I was able to get some great shots of their procession around the farmhouse and across the field.
The ceremony was beautiful with the couple reading their own personal vows. The guests enjoyed some drinks while we captured the group photos in front of the picturesque farmhouse. Then we drove over to Micheldever Wood where Carmen and Mike wanted some photos in the bluebells. We got back to the farm for the pizzas and burritos, followed by speeches in the marquee.
I was lucky enough to be allowed to use the gorgeous walled garden next to the farmhouse for some photos as the sun was going down. The brilliant pop punk covers band High School Reunion provided the evening entertainment. I stayed for quite a while after the first dance, enjoying the music.
Here are some highlights from a most enjoyable day of wedding photography at Dummer Down Farm.
