Basingstoke Wedding Photography at the Register Office
I had the pleasure of doing the photography for Carmina and Ian’s Lord of the Rings themed wedding at Basingstoke Register Office. The bride looked stunning in her fairy tale dress and elven styled hair and jewellery. She was given away by her son who was also the ring bearer and wore the one ring around his neck just like the famous hobbit. The groom completed the LOTR look with his elven leaf brooch tie pin.
This wedding was back in August and the weather was a lot warmer than it is now that I’m finally catching up with my blog posts in January. The ceremony was in the lovely bright Wellesley Room at the front of the registry office. After the formalities, the happy couple walked out into the sunshine under a shower of bubbles. This gave me the opportunity for some slightly different shots and also meant that the couple didn’t need to pick lots of confetti from their hair for their formal photos.
We took a few group photos around the front of the register office. Then all the guests went on to the reception, while I took a few more photos of the bride and groom having a walk in the park. Having the Memorial Park right next door to the registration office is perfect for wedding photography when the weather is as good as it was on this day.
Here is a small selection of the photos from this lovely wedding. There is one portrait of the couple on a balcony that you won’t find at the register office or anywhere in the park. With the theme of this wedding, I couldn’t resist doing a special edit with a fantasy background that looks like it might exist somewhere in Middle Earth.
